Amy Booth

Dr Amy Booth is a medical doctor, who, after graduating from the University of Cape Town (summa cum laude and gold medallist), spent several years working for the South African Department of Health. It was here that she realised how environmentally unsustainable health systems were. Building on research that she had done with the WHO on the links between the environment and AMR, she is currently undertaking a PhD as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, exploring the environmental impact of health systems. Her research focuses on exploring strategies to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions across the pharmaceutical supply chain. She has published several peer-reviewed articles and has been invited to present on her research on both national and international platforms.
