Our food, our planet - how our food shapes personal and planetary health and what healthcare can do about it

11:10 AM - 11:30 AM

The currently predominant food patterns especially in industrialised countries are fueling several health crises, among them a big part of NCDs, the climate crisis and the growing risk of zoonotic pandemics.
In his talk, Niklas Oppenrieder will demonstrate the links between our food choices and these health crises with a focus on important common denominators. He will then give an overview and examples - from the work of the Physicians Association for Nutrition (PAN) and other organisations and institutions - on how the health sector can contribute to the much needed transformation of our food system.
